You need to book at least 3 days in advance. Follow instructions! I was here 1966-1969 when No. 1 School of Technical Training was here. The visit brought back many memories and filled in some of the history that I was not aware of. I still use some of the skills I learned here nearly 60 years look later.

Not usually open to the public except on special days, such as the free Halton House open day at RAF Halton in Wendover. Busses are provided to take you into the base. Because it is incredably popular, it is very crowded, which detracts slightly from the visit. Great for geeks who are into aircraft engines, etc. Not suitable for young children. Takes about 3 hours. Very good canteen, though rather busy. Recommended.

The museum is chocked full with information and artifacts illustrating the legacy of RAF Engineering that Lord Trenchard created when he fought for Halton to be established. If you like the RAF, Engineering, or Military aircraft hardware you should arrange a visit. You wont be disappointed. Entrance is free, but you do need to arrange your visit before hand. Hurry there may only be a few years left.

Excellent museum illustrating RAF Halton's historic role delivering vital training in aircraft engineering, dentistry and nursing. Unique 'hands on' displays of aviation, engineering and weapons plus the life of aircraft apprentices through the years.

Lovely little museum, run by a very knowledgeable gentleman. We visited here with our teenage son. Francis showed us round and shared lots of fascinating facts about the history of the RAF and RAF Halton. You can get up close to everything and also handle certain objects. There is also a separate building with old and new flight simulators which my son could try out. We were given a personal tour of that part by another very helpful and informative gentleman. I would definitely recommend this museum. You have to email in advance to book your visit and then you are met and shown around in your group. A fascinating place. Well worth a visit.
